Geotechnician
We have a unique opportunity for an individual with a passion for hands-on fieldwork. As an onsite, project-based Geotechnician, you will play a crucial role in the exploration and development of a gold mine near Fairbanks. This position provides an exciting work-life balance for those ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of the mining industry. We provide room and board during your work rotations and some transportation costs to get to/from site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rock Core Management: Transporting, cutting, prepping, and logging rock core samples with precision and attention to detail.
- Field Operations: Conduct field surveys, collect geological data, and contribute to the overall geological assessment of the mine site.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your team.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various geotechnical tools and machinery with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Data Recording and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of geological data and collaborate with the geology team to analyze findings.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in a mining or exploration environment is preferred, but not mandatory.
- License: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift and work in challenging outdoor conditions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and changing environment, adapting to the needs of the project.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without work visa sponsorship.
