Communications Specialist

About the Opportunity

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an on-site, project-based (8-12 months) Communications Specialist to support our client’s U.S. and European operations in the industrial minerals sector. This hybrid strategic and hands-on role plays a key part in connecting people, strategy, and performance through compelling internal and external communications.

The Communications Specialist will lead communication initiatives, develop impactful content, and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure message alignment across multiple sites and functions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications professional who thrives in a dynamic, project-based environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead communication strategy and execution across U.S. and European operations.
  • Support operational and employee communications to drive engagement and alignment.
  • Elevate the internal and external brand through creative content and storytelling.
  • Draft and edit leadership messages, speeches, media materials, and presentations.
  • Manage communications for strategic projects (e.g., new products, sustainability initiatives, negotiations).
  • Coordinate and produce high-quality materials that connect employees to business priorities.
  • Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic goals into clear, actionable messages.
  • Support event planning, leadership meetings, and communication touchpoints.
  • Track communication effectiveness and employee feedback to support continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience designing and executing communications strategies in a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in creating content across multiple platforms (print, digital, and social).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across teams and levels.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with project management or process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus.
