Maintenance Manager – Mining

Job Overview:

Turner Mining Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing a fleet of mining equipment valued between $200 million and $500 million. The ideal candidate will come from the mining industry, preferably with experience in metal mining, and will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of equipment maintenance and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of a fleet of mining equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks, and other support vehicles.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Manage a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance activities, balancing production needs with equipment availability.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintenance costs, making recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source parts and manage inventory.
• Analyze equipment failures and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and other expenses.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role in the mining industry, with a focus on metal mining preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of mining equipment maintenance and repair, including heavy machinery and mobile equipment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in maintenance management or a related field.
• Experience with asset management and fleet optimization.
• Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations in the mining industry.
