Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Mining Equipment)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mining mobile equipment. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Candidates must be comfortable working extended 12-hour shifts and rotating between day and night schedules if needed.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining equipment including:
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Haul trucks (40-ton to 100-ton)
- Water trucks
- Motor graders
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues efficiently
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and servicing
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with operators and other maintenance personnel
- Adhere to all company safety policies and MSHA regulations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (mining or construction)
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience working on large haul trucks and earthmoving equipment preferred
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment with minimal supervision
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Valid driver’s license required
