Production Geologist

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Geologist to support and advance geological evaluation, grade control, and resource development activities at the Jerritt Canyon operation. This role works closely with Geology, Technical Services, and Operations teams to deliver accurate and actionable geological information that supports safe, efficient, and data-driven mining decisions.

Depending on experience, this individual may take on increasing responsibility in grade control leadership, resource model support, and drilling program coordination while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead grade control programs to optimize ore recovery and minimize dilution
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze geological data including mapping, sampling, and core logging
  • Support and coordinate drilling and grade control programs while ensuring safe and efficient execution
  • Update, maintain, and validate geological and resource models using drilling and sampling data
  • Perform geological interpretation and targeting to support mine planning and resource development initiatives
  • Maintain QA/QC standards and ensure geological data integrity
  • Maintain and improve geological databases and modeling systems
  • Provide geological input for mine planning, production activities, and development projects
  • Participate in reconciliation processes and identify opportunities to improve grade control performance
  • Identify geological risks and opportunities to support mine and drill planning activities
  • Support evaluation of exploration targets, new properties, and development opportunities
  • Develop recommendations to improve operational performance and geological understanding
  • Contribute to building geological knowledge across the site and surrounding district
  • Mentor and support junior team members as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5–8+ years of experience in mining geology, exploration, or related mining environments
  • Underground mining experience preferred, particularly in narrow vein or similar deposit types
  • Strong understanding of grade control practices, geological modeling, and reconciliation processes
  • Experience supporting or leading drilling programs and geological data collection
  • Proficiency with geological modeling and mining software; Deswik experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and operational teams
  • Professional Geologist (PG) registration or eligibility is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
