Project Manager:  Utilities/Construction Background

Location:  Onsite 2 days a week or more depending upon projects

Hours:  Monday – Friday:  7am-4:30PM

Summary:
Conducts project management activities including planning and engineering coordination, procurement, administration, and construction management of projects assigned through company.  This position is specifically directed at managing projects that include a high level of technical complexity, potentially significant costs, and projects that may impact business operations or the delivery of critical services such as water and power to customers. Develops and implements standard and project-specific procedures and directs activities of staff and support functions to meet project and budget requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Directs the activities of architects, engineers, designers, technicians, and contractors responsible for designing, constructing, and modifying support facilities.
  • Provides technical and procedural guidance to architects, engineers, designers, technicians, and contractors to ensure successful project completion with minimal cost impact.
  • Proposes and implements changes to design, construction, and procedural standards to improve property and asset performance.
  • Maintains and enforces consistent standards and specifications to ensure project activities align with organizational requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, city, and company regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Develops and implements project schedules consistent with standards, specifications, requirements, and available funding; provides regular updates on progress and key milestones.
  • Manages procurement and award of consultant, equipment, and construction contracts in alignment with company guidelines, with direct input on planning and execution decisions.
  • Develops and administers project staffing plans, effectively utilizing both internal and external resources to meet project objectives.
  • Maintains objectivity and performs effectively in environments with limited precedent, high pressure, and evolving procedures.

Experience
A minimum of five years of related experience is required (or nine years of relevant experience without a degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling nine years).

Education
A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
