Overview

Turner Staffing Group is partnered with a laboratory services company operating inside a gold mine in Kershaw, SC, looking for a Purchasing/Inventory Assistant to support day-to-day lab operations. This role is responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and providing general administrative support to keep the lab running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Order and track laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment to ensure the lab stays adequately stocked
• Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overordering
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to place orders, confirm pricing, and track deliveries
• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments and supplies
• Provide general administrative support to lab staff, including filing, data entry, and record-keeping
• Assist with maintaining purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation
• Communicate with lab personnel to understand supply needs and anticipate future orders
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment
• Follow all site safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, inventory management, or administrative support preferred
• Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with inventory or purchasing software a plus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of day-to-day supply needs
• Comfortable working in a laboratory setting located within an active mining operation
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
