Scaler Operator

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate scaling equipment to safely remove loose or unstable rock in underground areas.
  • Inspect work areas to identify scaling needs and potential hazards.
  • Maintain equipment through routine checks and basic servicing.
  • Follow all underground safety procedures and site-specific protocols.
  • Collaborate with the production team to support efficient and safe operations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Ability to safely operate heavy or specialized equipment in confined spaces.
  • Strong hazard recognition skills, especially related to underground ground control.
  • Capacity to follow technical instructions and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a high standard of safety and operational discipline.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
  • Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.

What We Offer

  • $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50/hr underground rate
