Geology Superintendent
Turner Staffing Group is recruiting a Geology Superintendent for an on-site, project-based leadership opportunity with a mining operation in Nevada. This is a high-impact role responsible for leading all geological functions across exploration, study, and future operational phases of the project.
This position is ideal for a senior geologist who combines strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and operational understanding, and who is motivated to drive both resource growth and operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Geology Superintendent will lead the site geology function, ensuring accurate and timely orebody knowledge supports safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations. This role spans the full lifecycle of geological work, including operational geology, grade control, geological modeling, resource estimation, drilling programs, and data management.
You will play a critical role in aligning geological insights with mine planning, production, and long-term strategy—helping guide the project from study phase into operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Operational Geology

Lead all geological activities including mapping, sampling, logging, ore control, and reconciliation

Integrate geological understanding into mine planning, production decisions, and risk management

Oversee geological modeling, resource estimation, and database management systems

Interpret and communicate key geological insights such as structure, grade trends, alteration, and geometallurgical controls

Ensure robust QA/QC processes and continuous improvement of geological workflows
Drilling & Resource Development

Lead planning and execution of production, infill, near-mine, and exploration drilling programs

Develop drilling strategies aligned with both operational and long-term resource objectives

Manage drill budgets, proposals, and capital planning

Support exploration targeting and resource growth initiatives
Leadership & Management

Lead, mentor, and develop the geology team, including succession planning and performance management

Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost control

Oversee consultants, contractors, and vendors

Establish strong cross-functional partnerships with engineering, operations, processing, and environmental teams

Track and deliver on KPIs, ensuring timely execution of models, reports, and operational support
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

10+ years of experience in mining geology, including 5+ years in a leadership role

Strong experience in geological modeling and resource estimation

Proficiency with tools such as Leapfrog and mining software platforms

Experience in both open-pit and underground mining environments

Experience managing drilling programs and exploration campaigns

Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels

Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
Preferred Qualifications

Ability to sign off as a NI 43-101 Qualified Person (QP)

Experience in district-scale and near-mine exploration

Experience supporting projects transitioning from study to operations

Strong background in geometallurgy and reconciliation practices
